ApexGPS User Guide
A free Android hiking app. Record your trips, view GPX tracks, mark waypoints, download maps for offline use, share your live location with a friend. No account, no ads, no cloud.
This guide walks through everything the app can do. Start with Getting started if you just installed it; otherwise jump to whatever section you need.
Getting started
- Install & first launch β permissions, basic gestures, the first five minutes.
On the map
- The map screen β gestures, compass, follow-me, the toolbar.
- Share your location β send your spot to a friend, receive shared locations, navigate to a target.
Your data
- Tracks β record live, import GPX, view, filter, sort, edit, share, delete.
- Waypoints β add, edit, 32 symbols, filter, sort, relocate.
- Offline maps β download map regions to use without signal.
- Backup & restore β save a copy of everything to a ZIP, restore on another device.
